Fishing Day at Salem Pond

Last week we had a great time at Fishing Day!

River had a great time fishing.

Becca got to see Cosmo and Smoky the Bear. Benny said he wanted to see Cosmo, but when I took him over, he panicked, screamed, and ran away. Cosmo was trying hard not to laugh. It was cute and I am sorry I don't have a video of it.

I think Cody liked Cosmo better than Smoky the Bear. Notice how he is resisting the handshake.
Cody is happy to get some sunscreen so he doesn't turn into a tomato.
Erik liked playing with the fishing line.
Benny and Becca both liked holding their fish after they had caught them.

Kenion and his bus buddy for the day Miss Jeanice or "Jeanie" as Kenion calls her.

Thanks Forest Service!

Hershey Track Meet

As a former track star, I was extremely excited that my third and fourth grade students got to participate in the Hershey Track meet. It was so much fun and they all did really well!

We started out on the track with the running events. I was so happy to find out that Erik loves track just like I do. Look at that smile!

Next, we moved on to throwing.

Cody was the star of the softball throw, and of course, Becca wanted to be his assistant.

Becca took some throws of her own too. Just look at her Red Devil Pride!

Good Job Benny!

Finally, we did the standing long jump.
Sorry the camera is turned sideways for half of the video. I don't know what I was thinking.

I am so proud of all my track stars! Good job guys!

John moved to Texas

At the end of March our old pal John moved to Texas. Before he could go, we decided to have a little going away party, cowboy style. I'm sure all you parents were wondering why in the world your children randomly came home with paper cowboy hats one day. Well now you know.

Even Cody wore his hat for about 3 seconds!
Lorri (one of the classroom technician)'s son Josh especially missed John.

We hope all is going well in Texas!

Spring Flowers

After the game, we were off to BYU to paint flowerpots.

Erik admires his handiwork.John was very proud of his pot and made sure I took his picture by it after he was finished.

Egg Hunt

Way back in March we had an egg hunt at BYU. It was still pretty cold.

John and River coldn't take their eyes off the spoils.
Becca and Kenion were pretty happy about what they found too.

Timmy made sure no one else could steal his eggs.
Once we found our eggs, we went inside out of the cold and continuted the festivities by coloring some Easter themed pictures and eating some of the candy.

After that we sat in a circle and sang a song or two about spring flowers.
