Playground Fun

Oh how we all wish for warmer days...
Erik misses the grassy areas to do somersaults!

These guys wish it would warm up so the metal on the playground wasn't so cold. Just don't stick your tongue to anything and we should make it through winter!

But if it has to be winter, at least there is snow.

Happy Belated Halloween

We had quite a variety of costumes on halloween...

River was Spiderman!
Cody was a terrifying dragon with wings. Actually he was an adorable two-headed dragon with wings because he didn't want to keep the dragon face hood on.
Forgive me for forgetting John's exact character (I'm not completely in tune with the latest kid characters since I have no children of my own), but he appears to be some type of intergalactic superhero, and a tough one at that.
Ben was a pajama boy, although it looks like we snuck a cowboy hat on him while he was laying on the floor.
He also tried out these creepy eyeball glasses.
Becca was a witch diva, while Miss Jeanice was a pirate.
Erik wore a spooky black cape, and Kenion was himself for Halloween.
Obviously we're not as cute as the kids, but just in case you wanted to see our costumes...here we are! I realize my costume is definitely the lamest, but really when else would I have a legitimate excuse to wear sweatpants to school?

Bowling Bonanza

On another occasion, we went bowling at BYU.
Cody thought this was a much better idea than having to work at school all day. Timmy agreed.

River was happy to hang out with his classmates while waiting for his turn.

Erik waits (and waits, and waits...)to see how the pins will fall.
Rachael was excited to see her ball rolling down the lane.

Kenion exclaims, "Look at me! I did it!"

Lions and Tigers and Bears, Oh My!

One of our first field trips this year was to BYU's Monte L. Beam Museum. We saw lots of fascinating animals. John liked the leopard.
Becca liked the butterflies

Ben, affectionately called "bear" by his family, sizes himself up against this grizzly. Can you see the family resemblance? (Note the territorial protection of the little cubs Rozy and Ella.)Kenion thought this moose was pretty cool.
Rachael also liked the zebra.

The birds were also a popular attraction.

When School Began

A long, long time ago when the weather was much warmer than it is now, school began.

Mrs. Furr decided to take some pictures of her new students. She didn't realize that many of them would anticipate the flash.

So she had to learn how to hold still and take pictures without the flash.
It took some work, but she finally figured it out.

And we were all happy about that.
